TOPIC : Anatomy and physiology of the blood circulation
HOURS : 9 HOURS a week/ 2weeks
I. GOALS
1. That the students will be able to understand and demonstrate the anatomy and physiology of blood circulation taking into consideration the age, physical and emotional conditions of the clientele.
II. OBJECTIVES
After the course the students will be able to:
1. List and explain the factors that influence blood pressure, and describe how blood pressure is regulated.
2. Define hypertension. Describe its manifestations and consequences.
3. Explain how blood flow is regulated in the body in general and in its specific organs.
4. Outline factors involved in capillary dynamics, and explain the significance of each.
5. Define circulatory shock. List several possible causes.
6. Trace the pathway of blood through the pulmonary circuit, and state the importance of this special circulation.
7. Describe the general functions of the systemic circuit. Name and give the location of the major arteries and veins in the systemic circulation.
8. Describe the structure and special function of the hepatic portal system.

V. LESSON DESCRIPTION
1. Students will be introduced to the importance of the body’s circulation, its functions and importance for us to live normally.
VI. LESSON PROCEDURE
A. INTRODUCTION
a. Give them a brief introduction on blood, blood vessels and the heart.
B. MAIN ACTIVITY
a. Students will be making a movie that will have a theme regarding the body’s circulation.
b. Students will be divided into three groups, each group will be able to critic each other’s play based on creativity, accuracy and relevance
C. CLOSURE
a. Students will submit a summary of all the things they have learned about the topic
D. FOLLOW UP
a. Informal debate on the topic
